Carlisle Racecourse, Cumbria, England
Carlisle racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue which hosts national hunt races from September to April and flat and jump meetings between April and August each year. Set in the Cumbrian countryside, the course offers picturesque scenery and a range of facilities alongside prestigious racing all year round. Carlisle Racecourse holds the Cumberland Plate and Carlisle Bell races, carrying on a tradition which dates back to the 1600's.
Amongst it's innumerable 'claims to fame', Carlisle launched the first operational Tote on British racecourses in 1929 and notably Red Rum won at the Carlisle September meeting prior to each of his Grand National wins. Progressive upgrading of the facilities has taken place over the years but none as significant as the construction of a brand new 'state-of-the-art' Jubilee Grandstand which opened in October 2002. www.carlisle-races.co.uk

Brisbane Turf Club is recognised as one of the most innovative and progressive race clubs in Australia. The Brisbane Amateur Turf Club, one of the top racing clubs in the southern hemisphere was formed in 1923. Its main interest then was the Albion Park racecourse (now a trotting venue). It became known, and continues to be known, as The Creek because it was developed from a swampy marsh, which had a creek running through it. In 1997, the Club changed its name and is now know as the Brisbane Turf Club (BTC). Cleanevent has been there since 1998. www.doomben.com

Royal Ascot, Ascot, England
There are few sporting venues that can match the rich heritage and history of Ascot Racecourse. Over the past 300 years Royal Ascot has established itself as a national institution and the centrepiece of the British social calendar. Opened in 1711 by Queen Anne the first races held bare little resemblance to those of today. Of course tradition still reigns and Queen Anne Stakes continues to be run in memory of the monarch who founded the course nearly three centuries ago.
Ascot Racecourse closed in September 2004 for a major redevelopment, the largest of its type in Europe. Traditionally the racecourse has redeveloped every 50 years and this was to be no exception. The focal point of the redevelopment was undoubtedly the new Grandstand itself. The stand is flooded with natural light, using glass and aluminium materials, bringing the outside in as you walk through the impressive galleria. The racecourse track has also been redeveloped and Ascot is proud to have again reopened its gates in 2006 on a world class racing surface. www.ascot.co.uk

Wolverhampton Racecourse, Dunstall Park, England
Wolverhampton Racecourse is Britain's first floodlit horse racing track bringing you the thrills of racing, day and night. It is also the UK's busiest racetrack as we host around 100 fixtures during the year. In 2004, the Fibresand track and turf track were replaced with one Polytrack surface and there were substantial refurbishments to the hotel and conference facilities. Since that time there has only been flat, all weather racing at Wolverhampton.
Each year has seen the fixture list grow and in 2006 Wolverhampton hosted 110 fixtures. The modern facilities at Wolverhampton are testament to the fact that racing can move with the times but retain the excitement of the sport. www.wolverhampton-racecourse.co.uk
