Calder Park
It has
been nearly
five months
since we
held our
last drag
meeting at
Calder Park.That event saw an
entry list of nearly 200 plus fight
it out for the Victorian
Championships.With
competitors coming from all over
Australia,it proves that Calder
Park is still the fastest track in the
land as several records were
broken over the days racing. The ANDRA 2001 Nationals were held from March 15 - 17.It was great to see,as it had been a "long time between drinks" (as the saying goes) for those of us who love the smell of burning r ubber and the purr of horsepower over the quarter mile. There was a lot of work to be done in preparing for the Nationals. Glenys and I would like to take this opportunity to farewell Rick Jackson and wish him all the best at Moonee Valley. We will look forward to seeing you at each meeting to help us set up! Best of luck! Glenys and Ralph |

Melbourne & Olympic Park Trust AC/DC rocked Rod Laver Arena with an awesome three concerts. They were huge and the music was loud as they belted out all their old with a mix of new tunes. Many thanks goes to the band for the big clean up after six confetti cannons were let off in the last song. It was a night to remember. Basketball and cycling now share the Vodafone Arena and with the quick change over it has been a learning curve for all the Cleanevent staff. A thank you goes out to all the hard working staff at Melbourne Park. Great job guys! Andrew Weaver |
Melbourne Exhibition Convention Centre
The busy time is upon us at the MECC .Cleanevent won the internal clean for the 2001 International Motor Show, for the first time and we certainly looked forward to the challenge.March was a hectic month, with the Toy and Hobby Expo and two smaller shows following the Motor Show.Chris Connolly joined the Cleanevent exodus to the USA and Carlo Giretti joined the MECC crew during those 4 weeks.I hope you enjoyed your time with us! |
Melbourne Showgrounds
It's been a fairly busy few months at the Melbourne Showgrounds.January gave us three horse shows and the Big Day Out,Februar y gave us the TET Vietnamese Festival,Persia 2001 Exhibition and the post clean of the Pet and Animal Expo. All the above events went well but it was disappointing from the promoter s point of view that the TET Festival crowds were down on last year. Thanks to all staff for their efforts in Febr uar y during the above events.March and April were also fair ly busy months with the Arabian Horse Classic, the International Modeller s Expo and the 2001 Offshore Concer t.Again,I must say thanks to all the staff who worked and helped out during these events. Once again,no rest for the wicked. Dean Taylor |

Hello to everybody from the Valley of Exitement.
Once again,it's been very busy. The Nights of Glor y got record crowds, culminating in 22,000 punters rocking and rolling to the exciting tones of Vanessa Amorosi on the final night.Thank you to all the permanent and casual staff who made the Nights of Glory a success with the pre-event and post cleaning. The prodigal son/leader,Jim Collins, has returned from his enforced lay-off.He's never looked fitter and already the whip is cracking.Welcome back! Kris Scharper helped to run the Airshow in February and then moved on to the Grand Prix.Phil Chatfield has returned from the USA.Thanks for all your help during the 5-6 weeks before you left. Finally,a belated congratulations to Anita Peterson who has reached the ripe old age of 50.From all the staff at Moonee Valley and Cleanevent,we wish you a Happy Birthday and hope you had a great day.
